With Week 5 in the books, the prep football season is at its halfway point. Here are five takeaways from Friday.

Dallan Hayden reaches 1,000 yards

Christian Brothers improved to 4-1 with an impressive 45-21 road win over Pope John Paul II. Dallan Hayden, who came into the game with 908 yards, rushed for 280 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. He now has 1,188 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season. The four-star junior is the first Shelby County player to reach 1,000 yards rushing this season.

Collierville wins on last-second field goal

The Dragons were trailing at Gallatin by two with less than a minute remaining, but Hudson Hollenbeck drilled a 40-yard field goal to give Collierville a 20-19 win. It was the first win of the season for Collierville, which just wrapped up a two-week quarantine.

Houston rallies to beat Arlington

Houston picked up another big win, beating region foe Arlington 43-29. The Mustangs scored 21 points in the fourth quarter. Jaylen Momon, Josh Mathis and Ben Stegall combined for five rushing touchdowns. Arlington's Gabriel Torres returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.

Covington shuts out Ty Simpson, Westview

Westview, which features the No. 2 dual threat quarterback for the Class of 2022 in Ty Simpson, came into its matchup with Covington having scored 35 points or more in each game. But it couldn't muster a single point against Covington, which prevailed 48-0. Covington's Marcus Hayes and Jamarrion Dowell combined for five touchdowns on the ground.

ECS back with blowout win over Northpoint

ECS, which lost 48-10 last week, rebounded by beating Northpoint 40-12. Jaylen Greenwood rushed for 171 yards and four touchdowns after missing last week's game with an injury. Both of Northpoint's touchdowns were passes from Hudson Brown. ECS is set to travel to Collierville next week.
