Middle Tennessee high school football top-10 rankings after Week 5

Here's a look at the top 10 high school football teams in Middle Tennessee, as ranked by the USA Today Sports Network. 

1. Oakland (5-0) – The Patriots are averaging 42 points a game after beating Cookeville 42-7 to remain undefeated. Last week: Ranked No. 1. This week: vs. Rockvale.

2. Brentwood Academy (5-0) – Kicker Teagen Lenderink is 11-of-14 on field goals through five games. Last week: Ranked No. 2. This week: vs. Florence (Alabama).

3. MBA (2-0) – Patrick Wilk rushed for 236 yards in the Big Red's 30-27 win over MUS. Last week: Ranked No. 3. This week: at Ensworth.

4. Brentwood (3-1) – Cade Granzow's third rushing touchdown against Ravenwood gave the Bruins their third straight regular-season win in the Battle of the 'Woods. Last week: Ranked No. 4. This week: at CPA.

5. CPA (4-0) – Cade Law's 169 passing yards and three touchdown passes led the Lions past BGA 35-10. Last week: Ranked No. 6. This week: vs. Brentwood.

6. Ravenwood (3-2) – The Raptors' overtime loss to Brentwood marked the first time since 2016 that they have lost two straight games. Last week: Ranked No. 5. This week: vs. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida).

7. Riverdale (4-1) – Jameson Holcomb's 269 passing yards and two touchdowns powered the Warriors past Rockvale 48-8. Last week: Ranked No. 7. This week: at Blackman.

8. Mt. Juliet (4-0) – The Bears' defense has allowed a combined 17 points over the past two weeks. Last week: Ranked No. 8. This week: vs. Spring Hill.  

9. Independence (3-1) – The Eagles have outscored their opponents 84-28 since a Week 1 loss to Summit. Last week: Not ranked. This week: vs. Hendersonville.

10. Summit (4-1 ) – Destin Wade is averaging 282.5 total yards a game this season to lead the Spartans. Last week: Ranked No. 10. This week: at Clarksville Northwest.
