With Week 6 complete, the second-half of the 2020 Memphis-area high school football season has officially arrived. Here are five takeaways from Friday night.

Michael Dallas scores 9 TDs

Briarcrest's offense had its best night of the season Friday night, beating Arkansas' Harding Academy 63-28. Quarterback Michael Dallas accounted for all nine Saints touchdowns, throwing for eight and rushing in one. He finished with 418 yards passing and 136 yards rushing. It is unclear if the Saints will play next week as it was scheduled to play Christian Brothers, which is quarantining over COVID-19 concerns.

Collierville holds ECS to 10 points

The Collierville defense stepped up big, holding defending DII-AA state champ ECS to two scores in a 20-10 homecoming win. Troy Martin carried the ball 11 times for 100 yards and a touchdown. Jaden Malone and Ethan Hassler combined for 14 tackles. ECS; Jaylen Greenwood rushed for 172 yards, including a 62 yard TD in the loss. It's the second win in a row for the Dragons, which beat Gallatin on a last-minute 40-yard field goal last week. Collierville was scheduled to play Cordova next week, but with the Wolves out indefinitely the Dragons may try to find another opponent for next week according to columnist Mark Giannotto.

MUS gets first non-COVID win

Edwin Shy completes his first 12 passes and finished 20-25 for the night, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-3 win over Arlington. The Owls improved to 4-2 with the win, which was its first win that didn't come by a COVID forfeit. Clarkson Shoaf scored both of his touchdowns within the first six minutes, and the Owl defense held Arlington scoreless for the final three quarters. Next, the Owls are set to take on St. Benedict, which features the No. 1 prospect in the country for the Class of 2022 in defensive lineman Walter Nolen.

Olive Branch gets dramatic win over DeSoto Central

Olive Branch scored a touchdown with less than a minute remaining went for two instead of trying to tie the game. The gamble paid off as Khameron Ford made the two point conversion and the Conquistadors picked up a big road win over rival DeSoto Central to improve to 4-0. Ty Walton had 14 carries for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Olive Branch hosts Tupelo next week.

Bartlett 5-1 heading into showdown with Houston

Bartlett beat St. Benedict 39-13 Friday night as Walt Tucker was 9-15 passing with 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The win puts Bartlett's record at 5-1 as it heads into next week's match up with last year's region champ and Class 6A state semifinalist Houston. After dropping its first two games to Briarcrest and Christian Brothers, Houston beat ECS and Arlington and picked up a COVID win over Bolton.
