Week seven is complete and the countdown to the high school football playoffs is on as we enter the final month of the regular season. Here are five takeaways from Friday night.

1. Robert Giaimo has big night against Houston

Bartlett picked up its first win over Houston since 2011, beating the Mustangs 38-20. Senior running back Robert Giaimo rushed for 295 yards and five touchdowns, including a 75-yarder. Bartlett also scored on a 73-yard interception return for a touchdown from Justin Jefferson. Houston's Jaylen Momon rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown in the loss. It was the first region 7-6A loss for Houston since 2017.

2. Covington falls to Milan in triple OT

Covington, which entered it's contest against Milan 6-0, fell to the Bulldogs 14-7 in triple overtime. Dalton DIckerson scored the Chargers' only touchdown, a 36-yard touchdown catch from Tanner Stewart. Milan, which stopped the Chargers on 4th and goal from the 1 in the second over time, beat Covington by the same score last year but the Chargers went on to make the Class 3A state semifinals.

3. Fayette-Ware clinches first region title since 1995

With fall sports postponed indefinitely for Shelby County Schools, Fayette-Ware and Millington were the only two teams competing in Region 8-4A this year. The Wildcats and Trojans met Friday night, and Fayette-Ware picked up a 26-20 win. Atlantis Lax rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. Quarterback Kyle Lowe, who transferred to Fayette-Ware when his dad Woodrow Lowe Jr. became head coach, rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. According to the Fayette-Ware athletics Twitter account, the win marks the first region championship for the WIldcats since 1995.

4. St. George's is the last local undefeated team standing

Lausanne, Olive Branch, and Covington each lost for the first time this season Friday night, leaving St. George's as the only team in the Memphis-area without a loss. The Gyphons have only played one game so far, a 41-7 win over FACS. St. George's has a bye-week this week before traveling to Evangelical Christian School on Oct. 16.

5. Collierville loses to Cabot Arkansas

Collierville, which was coming off back-to-back big wins over Gallatin and ECS, fell 38-31 to Cabot (Arkansas). Troy Martin rushed for 142 yards and accounted for a pair of touchdowns for the Dragons, and Scottie Alexander caught a pair of touchdown passes. Collierville travels to rival Houston next week.
