Tigers headed to Cookeville for TSSAA championship

The Fayetteville Tigers, on the road in Tiptonville, held off Lake County, 38-24 to advance to the TSSAA state championship game Friday in Cookeville. Their opponent will be South Pittsburg, 42-0 winners over Coalfield.

Fayetteville jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never trailed, although Lake County did cut the early deficit to 14-10 at the half and seemed to have the momentum carrying over into the third quarter, pulling within two. The Tigers however put 12 on the board in the fourth to punch their ticket to the ship.
