The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Grundy County Lady Jackets 61-56 on the road Saturday for their third win of the season.
The contest was close throughout with the Rebelettes pulling ahead in the final moments to snap a four-game losing streak.
Both offenses got off to strong starts with the Lady Jackets holding a slight edge early. The Rebelettes hit four 3-pointers as a team in the first quarter.
They trailed 20-16 after one quarter.
The strong 3-point shooting continued for the Rebelettes in the second quarter while they limited the Lady Jackets to just seven points on the other end of the court.
The Rebelettes led 29-27 at halftime.
The score remained close throughout the third quarter with the Rebelettes holding onto a slim 41-40 lead going into the final period.
The Rebelettes were able to close out the game behind a 10-for-13 performance at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter as they won by five points.
Macy Pittenger led the Rebelettes with 19 points for the game, followed by Destiny Russell and Heidi Seay with 10 points each. Pittenger hit four 3-pointers in the contest, and the Rebelettes hit 10 shots from beyond the arc as a team in the game.
Danica Stovall scored six points, Madisyn Partin and Katie Walker scored five points each, Lucy Barnes scored four and Daryn Morris scored two.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 3-12 on the season.
They will next play Tuesday at home against Coffee County Central High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
