CPA boys basketball reaches TSSAA Division II-A championship with win over Tipton Rosemark

COOKEVILLE – It will be an all Nashville area final for the Division II-A boys basketball state championship.

CPA disposed of Tipton Rosemark on Thursday 81-70 at Tennessee Tech's Eblen Center to reach the program's third championship game and first since 2013.

CPA (30-4) plays Goodpasture (30-1) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the title game. The Cougars defeated Evangelical Christian 49-44.

After a fast-paced first half, both teams settled in. 

CPA finished with nine 3-pointers in the contest.

The Lions finished with four players in double figures. Trevecca signee Braden Zapp had 21 points. Mr. Basketball finalist Braeden Moore finished with 17 points and three 3-pointers before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Evan Shiflet also scored 17. And Jake Dykstra had 12.

Tipton Rosemark's Tyler Byrd led all scorers with 36 points. Teammate Alex Anderson, a South Alabama signee added 15.
