Wednesday's high school roundup: Eldem throws no hitter in Oak Hall baseball win

On Oak Hall’s Senior Night, senior Levent Eldem stole the show, throwing a no-hitter to lead the Eagles to a 10-0 win over Hawthorne on Wednesday night.

Eldem controlled the game, striking out 15 batters in a five-inning affair. Troy Freeman went 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI, while senior Matt Leber was 2-for-2 with one RBI, a run and a triple. Senior Andrew Pickens finished 1-for-3, scoring a run, and driving one in. Oak Hall is now 7-4 and plays Bronson on Friday at Bronson.

Union County: Three Tigers signed letters of intent to play at the next level — Skyler Shatto (Thomas University), Braxton Dukes (Tallahassee Community College) and Paden Clyatt (Thomas University).

BOYS TENNIS

Eastside 5, Buchholz 1: At Buchholz, Ethan Cockey, Victor Mai, Ben Davis and Bryson Ko all captured singles victories to clinch an overall win for Eastside High. Viduran Meenrajan took the sole singles match for Buchholz. Cockey and Davis teamed up to earn a win in doubles, the only tandem match that was played. The Rams’ record improves to 5-1 overall.
