Knox News All-PrepXtra high school girls basketball teams for 2021

All members of the 2021 Knox News All-PrepXtra girls basketball first team are nominees for the girls basketball player of the year. The winner will be announced on June 30 at the fifth annual Knoxville High School Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Maryville’s Denae Fritz

Position: Forward

Why chosen: The 5-foot-10 Iowa State signee was the Class AAA Miss Basketball award winner. She averaged 19 points and nine rebounds and led Maryville to the Class AAA semifinals.

Position: Guard

Why chosen: The 5-foot-8 guard helped lead Bearden to the Class AAA state tournament, averaging 11 points, five rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals.

Why chosen: The 5-foot-7 Northern Kentucky signee averaged over 27 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and led Oak Ridge to the Region 2-AAA semifinals.

Why chosen: The 5-foot-9 Carson-Newman signee was named the District 3-AA MVP, averaging 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals. She led Northview Academy to the Class AA semifinals.

Why chosen: The 5-foot-10 West Virginia commitment averaged 18 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Why chosen: The 6-foot-3 Treadwell led Bearden in points and rebounds, averaging 15 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks and helping the Lady Bulldogs reach the Class AAA tournament.

Why chosen: In his first season as Catholic's coach, Mains led the Lady Irish to their first state tournament appearance. Catholic reached the Division II-AA title game but lost to Goodpasture.
