Almost a month to the day he scored 32 points to lead the Cleveland High School boys' basketball team in a frustrating loss to Collierville in the TSSAA Class AAA state quarterfinals, Grant Hurst had something to celebrate.

Hurst, a senior, announced his college decision via Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

"I am proud to announce I have committed to further my academic and athletic career at UT-Martin!" he wrote. "Thank you to everyone who helped me to achieve my dreams on and off the court. This is only the beginning!"

A 6-foot-2 guard, Hurst helped the Blue Raiders to three Region 3-AAA championships and two state tournament appearances, and the program was 106-19 during his years on the court. He averaged 19 points, six rebounds and five assists per game this past season, which ended with the 62-56 loss to Collierville.

The University of Tennessee at Martin finished 8-16 overall and 6-14 in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2020-21. Ryan Ridder was introduced as the 12th coach in Skyhawks history on April 7.
