TSWA Boy's All-State Team Includes Four Area Standouts

Hurst, Thorne, Johnson And Rivers Honored By State Sports Writers

The Tennessee Sports Writer’s Association has released its 2021 Boy’s All-State team and the Chattanooga-area has four student-athletes named to the list of honorees. Among those area athletes selected there were three seniors and a sophomore.

Cleveland’s Grant Hurst was honored in Class AAA, while Kerrick Thorne of Howard was selected in Class AA. Both of these talented seniors led their respective teams to this past season's state playoff quarterfinal rounds.

In Division II, Boyd Buchanan’s sophomore standout Caden Johnson was named in Class A and multi-sport sensation and Memphis football commit Eric Rivers of McCallie was honored in Class AA.
