The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Columbia Central Lady Lions 11-1 on the road Tuesday for their sixth win of the season.
The Rebels took the lead in the fourth inning and pulled away in the sixth as they routed the Lady Lions to pick up a district victory.
After three scoreless innings to start the day, the Rebelettes scored two runs in the top of the fourth with Jacy Dority and Alyssa Sherrill hitting singles and coming around to score.
The Lady Lions got their lone run in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 2-1 game.
The sixth inning would be the decisive frame as the Rebelettes sent 14 batters to the plate and scored nine runs to push the lead up to double digits. The big blow for the inning was an inside-the-park grand slam hit by Emma Owens to score four of the runs.
The Lady Lions were retired in order in the bottom half of the inning as the Rebelettes won in six innings via the mercy rule.
Amelia Sherrill got the win on the mound for the Rebelettes as she pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and one run allowed.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 6-13 on the season and 3-9 in district play.
They will next play Friday at LaVergne High School. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
