Patriots top Knights on Monday

Scoring runs in five of the seven innings pushed the Henry County High School baseball team to a 13-6 triumph over Kenwood on Monday in Clarksville.

The Patriots improved to 9-10 on the season and evened their record at 6-6 in District 10-AAA play. The Patriots played host to the Knights on Tuesday. Henry County travels to Decaturville to play Riverside in a 6:30 p.m. game on Friday and entertains Springfield at 11 a.m. Saturday.

 

PATRIOTS 13, KNIGHTS 6

Henry County jumped in front by scoring four times in the second inning and added three runs in the fourth frame. The Patriots scored three times in the fifth inning, tacked on one run in the sixth inning and scored two in the seventh.

Kenwood scored one run in both the fourth and sixth innings before striking for four in the seventh inning.

Charlie Davis paced Henry County at the plate by belting a home run and driving in three runs. Both John Carter Olive and Carter Hedges hit doubles. Kaine Gallimore, Peyton Charles and Cale Ellis lashed two hits each in the contest.

David Fain threw the first four innings. He allowed one earned run on six hits while walking two and fanning three.

Truitt Webb pitched the final three innings, allowing five runs, but only one earned run on three hits and two walks. He had four strikeouts.
