Page didn't have to look far for its new boys basketball coach.

Battle Ground Academy coach Jared Street was announced as Page's new boys basketball coach Wednesday afternoon. He will also join the school as a social studies teacher.

"We are thrilled to join the Page High School community," Street said in a release. "This is an exciting opportunity for my family and me. I want to thank Dr. (Katie) Hill and Mr. (Randy) Hatley for allowing me this opportunity to lead these young men.

"I am looking forward to starting work out and practice with the guys this summer as we begin the process of building our team for November. We are ready to be part and working with parents as we try to create a great experience for our young men."

BGA head coach Jared Street yells to his team during the second half against Webb at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tenn., Friday, Feb. 8, 2019.

In his three seasons at BGA, Street compiled a 33-48 record. Last season the Wildcats finished 8-18.

Prior to BGA, Street served as an assistant at Brentwood Academy, head coach at Hickman County and an assistant at Dyersburg.

"Coach Street brings extensive coaching success and experience to our Patriot basketball program," Page principal  Katie Hill said. "Coach Street will be a great mentor to our players and a teacher of high quality and character. The future is bright and we are proud to have Coach Street and is family join us."
