South Fork's Bryce Saylor voted TCPalm Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 8

South Fork senior pitcher Bryce Saylor was voted TCPalm Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 8 after his excellent performances on the mound to lead his team into the postseason.

Saylor threw six shutout innings in the Bulldogs' 2-0 district semifinal over Suncoast on April 27, clinching South Fork's spot in the 5A playoff bracket. On May 6, Saylor threw four innings of one-run ball to help the Bulldogs defeat Sebastian River 6-1 in the regional quarterfinals.

In a very close vote with fellow Bulldog, freshman track and field standout Addison Boyer, Saylor received 43 percent of the vote, garnering just over 3,000 votes with Boyer finishing as the runner-up picking up 41 percent of the vote.

John Carroll Catholic baseball player Braden Calise, Treasure Coast softball player Emma Kohler, John Carroll Catholic Softball player Ayonna Mitchell, Martin County track and field athlete Benjamin Lamothe, John Carroll Catholic track and field athlete Cody Menke, Fort Pierce Central track and field athlete Brianna Clayton, St. Edward's lacrosse's Liam Murphy, Vero Beach lacrosse's Emily Adams, Jensen Beach's tennis duo of Gabriel Escobar and Nicolas Galligan, Vero Beach tennis' Manuela Van Cotthem and Jensen Beach flag football's Ja'Shya Christie were also nominated for their performances over the two week period.
