CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – After facing an early 3-0 deficit Monday at home in the Region 5-AAA semifinals, Clarksville High softball stormed back to pick up a 8-3 victory over Beech.

Wildcat pitcher and Sydney Weatherford logged seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six Buccaneers in the win.

The Evansville commit also finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, home run and three RBIs while Emberly Nichols and Abby Chappell combined for six hits, two walks and two runs scored for the Wildcats.

Keyleigh Midgett had three hits, including a double and an RBI for Beech.

Clarksville (39-1-1) will play host to Springfield (24-9-1) Wednesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. in the Region 5-AAA championship game.

The Wildcats defeated the Yellowjackets 10-5 for the District 10-AAA title on Friday.
