Ensworth's Jaloni Cambridge and Hillsboro's Cori Allen have been selected as two of the 34 players competing for one of the 12 spots on the 2021 USA Basketball Women’s U16 National Team.

The trials will be held in Indianapolis from June 13-16 with Allen and Cambridge being the only two in-state players selected to compete in the trials.

“The committee is excited about the 34 athletes who are set to attend, and we expect this to be very competitive trials,” Carol Callan, chair of the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee, said in a release. “We hope that all of the participants get better through this experience, and we are grateful for their participation.

“In a normal year, we would have had a full complement of invited and applicant athletes. While that was not possible this year, we plan to get back to that process next year.”

Cambridge is one of the 11 members from the Class of 2024 on ESPN's Watch List.

Despite missing the postseason with an elbow injury, Cambridge was still named the Division II-AA Miss Basketball winner after averaging 19.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals.

Some of Cambridge's offers include Alabama, Arizona, Clemson and Kentucky.

Allen is listed as a four-star prospect according to ESPN.com and hold offers from several Division I programs including Tennessee, Louisville, Florida and Notre Dame.

In a COVID-shortened season, Allen helped guide the Lady Burros to the Region 6-AAA semifinals.
