Tennessean All-Midstate boys and girls high school swimming teams for 2021

The Tennessean All-Midstate girls and boys high school swimming teams are announced today along with the six male and six female nominees for Middle Tennessee swimmers of the year. The winners will be announced on June 28 at the sixth annual Middle Tennessee High School Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Girls

Hannah Babcock

Siegel, Sr.

Event: 1-meter dive

Nominee for Middle Tennessee Female Swimmer of the Year

Why chosen: Babcock won the state championship with 394.60 points.

Meredith DiPasquale

Brentwood Academy, Jr.

Event: 100-yard butterfly

Nominee for Middle Tennessee Female Swimmer of the Year

Why chosen: DiPasquale finished second in the event at the state championships in 56.53 seconds. She is ranked ninth in the state for the Class of 2022 according to Swimcloud.com.

Event: 500 freestyle

Nominee for Middle Tennessee Female Swimmer of the Year

Why chosen: Jyawook, a Connecticut commitment, finished third at the Tennessee high school state championships in 1:51.47. She is ranked fourth in the state for the Class of 2022 according to Swimcloud.com.

Zoe Summar

Centennial, Jr.

Event: 200 IM, 100 backstroke

Nominee for Middle Tennessee Female Swimmer of the Year

Why chosen: Summar finished second at the state championships in 2:01.49 in the 200 IM. Summar finished second in the 100 backstroke in 54.36 seconds. She is ranked second in the state for the Class of 2022 according to Swimcloud.com.

Gretchen Walsh

Harpeth Hall, Sr.

Event: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle

Nominee for Middle Tennessee Female Swimmer of the Year

Why chosen: Walsh, a Virginia signee, won the 50 freestyle in 21.61 seconds. She won the 100 in 47.55. She is ranked first in the state and first in the country for the Class of 2021 according to Swimcloud.com.
