Chris Parson still has two full seasons of high school football ahead of him but he's ready to make his college decision in the next few weeks.

The quarterback tweeted his top eight list Tuesday and said that he would be making his announcement on July 22. The eight schools in his list include Alcorn State, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, TCU, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

"Those are the schools I built the best relationships with throughout this time and schools I could see myself at," said Parson, who lived in Antioch when he was younger. "I had 16 offers and I felt that it would be best to narrow it down more the closer I decided to commit somewhere and find the best place for me."

Parson, a 6-foot, 190-pound junior, transferred to Ravenwood from Red Oak, Texas, in February. In 2020 he completed 39 of 70 passes for 541 yards with four TDs and four interceptions, according to the Dallas Morning News. He also rushed for 488 yards and 11 TDs.

Parson is ranked as a three-star prospect, the No. 11 quarterback in the country and No. 3 prospect in the state for the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite

Alcorn State stands out on Parson's top eight as the only school that is not a Power Five program.

The alma mater of long-time Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair, Parson said that the history and relationship he's made with the coaches is why he has them on his final list of schools.

"I built a really good relationship with the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach there," Parson said. "He offered me around this time last year going into my sophomore year so we've built that relationship and I felt like it was only right for me to show them some love and respect to them."
