D'Arco Perkins-McAllister, a four-star Stratford safety, picks TCU football

D'Arco Perkins-McAllister, a 2021 Stratford graduate and a four-star safety, will be headed to TCU.

Perkins-McAllister committed to the Horned Frogs on Saturday. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete reclassified for signing purposes and will be part of the 2022 signing class.

He announced his commitment on Twitter.

Perkins-McAllister is the No. 11 college football prospect in Tennessee for 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 20 safety in the country. He was recruited by TCU safety coach Paul Gonzales.

Nine of the top 15 prospects in Tennessee for the Class of 2022 have committed to eight different schools with twin brothers Destin and Keaten Wade of Summit both choosing Kentucky. None has committed to Tennessee or Vanderbilt.

Perkins-McAllister had more than 30 offers, including Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee.

Stratford played a limited schedule in 2020 after Metro Nashville Schools Director of Schools Adrienne Battle postponed the start of fall sports because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stratford went 2-5, losing 33-29 to Stewart County in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.

As a junior, Perkins-McAllister recorded 62 total tackles with 10 pass breakups and two interceptions in nine games.
