Chris Parson, a three-star Class of 2023 Ravenwood quarterback, commits to Florida State

Chris Parson is headed to Florida State.

Parson, a three-star Ravenwood quarterback and No. 8 college football prospect in Tennessee for the Class of 2023, announced his committed to the Seminoles on Thursday on Twitter.

The announcement came on his 17th birthday.

Parson is entering his first season with the Raptors after transferring from Texas. 

The 6-foot-½, 190-pound Parson will be a junior. He is the No. 18 quarterback in the country for 2023 according to the 247Sports Composite.

Parson made his first start as a freshman at Duncanville in the Texas high school Class 6A state championship game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. He played at Red Oak as a sophomore, throwing for 541 yards with four TDs and four interceptions and also rushing for 488 yards and 11 scores.

Parson is originally from the Nashville area before his family moved to Texas. The family returned to Tennessee during the spring.

Ravenwood coach Will Hester called Parson a leader on the field.

"The first piece is his phenomenal leadership," Hester said. "He's the leader of the football team. And as a player he's got a strong arm and is very athletic."
