CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Rossview boys basketball standout Ronald Jessamy announced Wednesday he will be transferring to Huntington Prep (WV) in Huntington, West Virginia to continue his high school playing career.

“First things first, I want to thank all of the coaches who helped me become who I am today including Damarius Smith, Dontrez J Cutno and John Jay, but I’ll be furthering my high school career at Huntington Prep,” Jessamy said in a Facebook post. “It was a very hard decision having to leave family and friends, but I believe this opportunity will help me reach my full potential. Even though I’m in West Virginia, my heart will always be in Clarksville. With that being said, lets go Huntington Prep.”

The national powerhouse will be making its return in 2021-22 after the Irish shut down their program last season due to COVID-19.

Huntington Prep has sent a lot of talent to the next level and is the former home of current NBA players Andrew Wiggins and Miles Bridges.

On the AAU circuit, Jessamy has emerged as one of the top bigs in the South with his team Mid-State Elite (MSE).

The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 10.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and led the state in blocked shots with 4.2 per game in his sophomore campaign.

Jessamy has already received scholarship offers from Tennessee State University, Alabama State University and gotten interest from several other Division I programs with two years of high school eligibility remaining.

Rossview will now look to replace even more production lost after the exits of seniors Bryant Rippy, Tim Williams Jr., Eli Colvin and Spencer Mimms from last year’s team.
