Jauan Jennings has made the San Francisco 49ers' 53-man roster, which was announced Tuesday.

Jennings, a 2015 Blackman graduate who played at Tennessee from 2015-19, was one of six receivers who made the 53-man roster, including projected starters Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, along with former Tennessee and Beech star Jalen Hurd, Mohamed Sanu Sr. and Trent Sherfield

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Jennings was drafted in the seventh round as the 217th pick overall by the 49ers in 2020, but spent the season on the practice squad. He also had a serious hamstring injury in October that ended his season.

Jennings had three catches for 49 yards in San Francisco's first preseason game in 2021 before a heel injury sidelined him for the second contest. He had one catch for 15 yards in the 49ers' third preseason contest Sunday, a 34-10 win over the Raiders.

At Tennessee Jennings caught 146 passes for 2,153 yards and 18 touchdowns, including career highs in receptions (59), yards (969) and TDs (8) during his senior season in 2019.

His biggest claim to fame while with the Vols was hauling in a Hail Mary  from Joshua Dobbs on the final play of the game to defeat Georgia in 2016.

A quarterback at Blackman, Jennings completed 196-of-377 for 3,425 yards and 31 touchdowns during his junior and senior seasons. He also combined for 1,560 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns during that stretch.

He was a two-time all-area offensive player of the year while at Blackman, leading the Blaze to the 2013 state semifinals and 2014 state quarterfinals. He also played on Blaze basketball team that won the 2014 Class AAA state title.
