MURFREESBORO — It was a star-studded affair when Lipscomb Academy and Oakland took the field Thursday night.

On Oakland's side stood Georgia commitment Jordan James and Miami commitment Isaiah Horton. Lipscomb Academy's side featured Boston College commitment Alex Broome and a cast of players who will someday play Division I college football.

Here's who each of the top college football prospects fared in Oakland's 29-21 win over Lipscomb Academy.

Alex Broome, Lipscomb Academy

Broome led the Mustangs with a team-high 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a 25-yard reception in the closing seconds of the first half to put Lipscomb Academy up 14-7 at halftime.

Isaiah Horton, Oakland

Horton was limited by the Lipscomb Academy on offense for 1 yard on one reception.

Horton played a more significant role on defense, finishing with 3.5 tackles and helping the Patriots' secondary keep Lipscomb Academy under 200 yards passing.

Jordan James, Oakland

James, a four-star running back, led the comeback for the Patriots.

Down 21-7 late in the third quarter, James broke loose for a 75-yard touchdown run to pull Oakland back within a touchdown. He added a short touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter to put the Patriots ahead and finished with a game-high 200 yards with the two touchdowns on 20 carries.

Luther Richesson, Lipscomb Academy

Richesson was limited in the attempts he took down the field and was pressured by Oakland's line for most of the night.

A three-star recruit with offers from Charlotte, Cincinnati, Kansas and Michigan State, Richesson finished the evening 27-for-32 for 186 yards with one touchdown. He also ran for 46 yards on 13 attempts.

Sam Roush, Lipscomb Academy

Roush, a four-star Stanford commitment, was targeted twice coming up with one of the receptions for a three-yard gain.

He played more of a role blocking on offense and on the defensive side with 5.5 tackles.

Junior Sherrill, Lipscomb Academy

Before a left ankle injury slowed him down and eventually took him out of the game in the second half, Sherrill was one of the Mustangs' top receiving threats, with seven receptions for 52 yards. He thrived in the first half with his speed, taking multiple flip passes on jet sweeps for quick gains.

Sherrill is a junior receiver who received his first Power Five offer from Vanderbilt on Sept. 18.
