Six Area Teams To Play In State Soccer Tournament

State Soccer Tournament To Be Hosted By CCS, GPS, Baylor and CHI Memorial Stadium

Chattanooga is set to host the TSSAA state championships this week for the first time since 2012.  Murfreesboro has been the home of the state soccer tournament since then.  Chattanooga is in the first year of a two year contract. 

Six area teams have qualified to play this week.  

First round games will be played at GPS, CCS and Baylor.   Championship games will be played on Friday and Saturday at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge.   

In Class A play on Wednesday, CSAS will play Madison Magnet at 1:30 at the Baylor School. 

Two area teams qualified for the Class AA tournament.   Signal Mountain will play Page on Wednesday at 1:30 at CCS and East Hamilton will face off with South Gibson Wednesday at 6:30 at CCS.  

In Class AAA, McMinn County will play Collierville Wednesday at GPS at 4 p.m. 

In Division II, GPS and Baylor won quarterfinal games on Saturday and advance to the Division II-AA state semifinals on Thursday at CCS.   GPS will play Hutchison at 11 a.m. and Baylor will play CPA at 1:30.   The Division II-AA championship will be played on Friday at CHI Memorial Stadium.
