Columbia Academy 'parting ways' with football coach Charlie Lansdell

Columbia Academy will have a new football coach in 2022 after the school announced it is "parting ways" with Charlie Lansdell.

In an email to parents obtained by The Daily Herald, athletic director Pernell Knox said the school was making a change in the coaching staff. 

Lansdell spent ten years with Columbia Academy. The Bulldogs went 3-7 this past season and 76-30 in nine seasons.

Columbia Academy has struggled since making the move to Division II. The Bulldogs are 11-19 the past three seasons competing in Division II-AA while being 65-11 in his six years in Division I. His success in Division I included a pair of state Class 2A semifinal appearances when Columbia Academy went 12-2 in both 2015 and 2017.

The Bulldogs will return Montae Baldwin, who ran for 1,070 yards and 13 touchdowns as a freshman.
