How it went down: DCA managed to overcome a pair of early turnovers and scored 14 points in the second quarter to take control of the contest. In the second half, Nashville Christian tried to start a comeback when Tyler Morris hit Jayden Satterfield for a 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter. However, any momentum was short-lived as Jacob Cook returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, posting the game’s final points and securing DCA’s title.

Key numbers: DCA’s defense collected eight tackles for a loss in the contest and four sacks … Nashville Christian was 3-of-11 on third down.

Turning point: Nathan Magalei’s interception of a Tyler Morris pass, followed by a 67-yard return to the Eagles’ 6-yard line, set DCA up for an Ashton Jones 1-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter. Nashville Christian had ended DCA’s first two drives with interceptions, yet did not score off those turnovers.

Key performers: Cook won game Most Valuable Player honors with 10 tackles (four solo), a pass breakup and his kickoff return for a touchdown … L.J. Tolbert had 2.5 sacks and finished with seven total tackles … Dayton Sneed caught four passes for 97 yards and a touchdown … Jones rushed for 132 yards and two scores … Aiden Humes led Nashville Christian with nine total tackles (three solo) … Nate Hamilton collected seven total tackles (six solo) … Luke Page and James Warmbrod each intercepted a pass for the Eagles.
