Prep basketball roundup: Al Peciulis leads Baylor in rout of Boyd Buchanan

Baylor senior Al Peciulis helped his team put together a 25-point second quarter and roll to a 69-27 home victory over Boyd Buchanan on Thursday.

The 6-foot-6 combo guard scored nine of his 15 points in the second quarter, when Peciulis made two of Baylor's five 3-pointers in the period. Eli Sparkman also helped the Red Raiders (3-1) to a quick start by delivering 15 points, while Zane Restelli had 13.

Tyner boys 90, Marion County 38: Freshman guard Rodney Henderson made eight field goals and scored 18 points to lead the Rams (4-2) to victory. Keelan Jackson added 13 points and combined with Nehemiah Bloodsaw for half of Tyner's 30 points in the third quarter.

Nathan Hoback made four 3-pointers and scored 14 for Marion, which scored from inside the arc only twice after trailing 17-15 to start the second quarter.

Calhoun boys 74, Woodstock 54: Dylan Faulkner scored 34 points as the Yellow Jackets, who are missing seven players due to football, evened their record at 1-1. Jayaun Harris added 20 points, nine coming in the second quarter when Cahoun outscored the visitors 23-12.

Soddy-Daisy girls 60, CSAS 12: The Lady Trojans scored 25 points in the first quarter as they improved to 4-3 and surpassed their win total from last season. Bell Ledford and Candyce Yother tied for the game high with 11 points apiece.
