Baylor Lacrosse Opens Season With Win Over Pope John Paul

Baylor opened its 2022 lacrosse season on Saturday with a crushing 16-1 win over Pope John Paul II at Tucker Hunt Memorial Field.

The Red Raiders jumped out to 6-0 lead after the first quarter and extended the lead to 13-0 at halftime.

The Baylor offense was led by Trey McDonald (6g, 3a), Henry Fowler (4g, 2a) and Nick McKenney (3 goals).  Weston Carico, long stick midfielder, scooped up a team-high 8 groundballs, scored a goal and assisted on another.

Jackson Phillips and Bridger Knee combined to win 18 of 21 faceoffs allowing the Red Raiders to dominate possessions throughout the entire game.
