Amarr Knox scores 36 points, Bartlett boys basketball beats East for TSSAA Region 8-4A title

Amarr Knox

scored a game-high 36 points to help Barlett boys basketball win the Region 8-4A championship game 76-68 against Memphis East on Thursday night at Central High School. 

Knox was unstoppable all night as he hit all five of his 3-pointers in the first half, including four in the second quarter. He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter. Regale Moore scored eight points and Charvez Ambrose added nine points. 

Alijah Curry led all Memphis East scorers with 23 points.

Bartlett (31-6) will host the Region 7-4A loser in the boys sectional round on Monday night. Bartlett is seeking its first appearance in the state tournament since the 2001. 

Memphis East (24-5) will travel to play the Region 7-4A winner in Monday's sectional round. The Mustangs are looking to  make the state tournament for the seventh time in the last nine seasons.
