Jackets’ 13-7 Win Sends Them To Spring Fling

Despite allowing five runs in the second inning, Lookout Valley defeated East Robertson 13-7 on Friday, punching their ticket to next week’s Spring Fling.The big inning for the defending champ Indians came thanks to a walk to Gavin True and a double by Austin Jones.


The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. The Yellow Jackets collected eight hits and East Robertson had five.

Lookout Valley opened up the scoring in the first inning.  Christian Chandler drove in two when He singled.

The Yellow Jackets put up five runs in the sixth inning.  Chandler, Jaxon Quails, Mason Randolph, and Rylan Collins each had RBIs in the frame.

Chandler took the win for Lookout Valley, allowing one hit and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three.  Eli Pell threw five and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Wyatt Pearson toed the mound for East Robertson. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on one hit.  Carter Holland, Peyton Clinton, and Jones each contributed in relief for the Indians.

Lookout Valley launched one home run on the day as Chandler had a homerun in the sixth inning.

The Yellow Jackets totaled eight hits.  Chandler and Jacob Winchester all collected multiple hits for Lookout Valley. Winchester and Chandler each collected three hits to lead Lookout Valley.

East Robertson collected five hits on the day.  Jones and Mason Eidson all managed multiple hits.
