Westview junior guard and four-star recruit Jada Harrison committed to Middle Tennessee State women's basketball Saturday after a visit earlier in the morning.

Harrison has offers from Power Five schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, but she decided to stay with the program that offered her first and said she knew during breakfast that MTSU was the school for her.

"We just got home today from the visit. We had breakfast in the football suite and I knew as soon as I got there. ... I didn’t want to leave for starters. They showed us great hospitality," Harrison said. "They have everything a school has to offer, great facility great players and great coaches. Just reading the defenses and knowing how to score — I feel they will help me develop in that asset.

"It was my first offer out of eighth grade. I feel by committing I was being loyal to them," They're not (in the) SEC and ACC but they beat those schools and I feel that the coaching is just as good and the school is just as good."

Harrison led the Lady Chargers to their first state championship since 1996 and was named the All-West Tennessee player of the year for the second straight season after she averaged 16.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals.
