Three-one is the Chester County High School Eagles Football team’s record after defeating the Adamsville Cardinals 35-21 on Friday.
Three-one is the phrase that had the team screaming and chanting after getting the “W.” The team’s only loss is against state competitor McKenzie, 48-28.
Offensively, the team was led by running back Judiaz Prather as he carried the rock for 198 out of 21 carries.
There were a lot of good things to note from the Chester County defense that saw growth this week.
Player of the Week Alex Lowe was not one to reckon with that can be seen from his nine tackles and four tackles for a loss.
Hunt Pipkin continued to pressure the Adamsville Quarterback as he forced the Adamsville quarterback to get rid of the ball once and made a sack at the end of the game.
Brayden Wilbanks is also a player to be recognized. He pressured the quarterback, swatted down a pass and intercepted another.
“That pressure – I love that,” Head Coach Dewond Johnson said.
Last, but not least, is Aidan Welch who was impressive as a defensive back this week.
Welch played tight defensive coverage and jumped for major air to swat down a pass to an Adamsville receiver.
Johnson said, “They keep getting better. ”
This week the Eagles offense and defense will both be put to the test with the district game against Hardin County who is always a tough opponent. Read the Chester County Independent next week to find out if the Eagles defeat the Tigers in this matchup of the week.
