HCHS golfers compete in region

Henry County High School golfers (from left) Berrett Watkins, Jesse Klutts and Jackson Ridgeway competed as individuals in the Region 7-AA Tournament on Monday at Pickwick State Park. They weren’t able to advance to the state tournament although Ridgeway placed ninth overall with an 18-hole score of 80. Both Watkins and Klutts came in at 94. Dickson County won the team title with a four-player score of 306. The Cougars were led by No. 1 medalist Bo Kerr who had a round of 68. Patriot golf coach Brian Welp said he was proud of a senior class that included Ridgeway, Watkins, Sam Smith, Mason Elliott, Brayden Tosh and Paul Tusa. “They have all improved their own games while also advancing our program over the last four years. They are fine young men and I really look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future,” said Welp.
