Maryville football's region winning streak dating back to 2000 is over.

Cleveland's go-ahead touchdown in the final minute lifted the Blue Raiders past Maryville, 28-24, in a major upset on Friday at Cleveland High School.

Cleveland (4-3, 1-2 Region 2-6A) took a 21-14 lead into the fourth quarter, before Maryville (5-2, 2-1) scored 10 straight points to go ahead. The Blue Raiders scored a touchdown to cap off a lengthy drive with less than 30 seconds left and held on for the victory.

The Rebels last lost a region game in 2000 to Halls in what was then Region 3-4A. That was also the last season Maryville lost multiple regular season games.
