BLUFF CITY, Tenn. – Tri-Cities Christian gave new head coach Tyrone Smith a win in his debut by holding off Sullivan East, 55-50, the 2022-23 hoops season-opener Monday evening at The Dyer Dome.

The Eagles led 45-29 through three quarters, but a furious Patriot rally got the hosts back to with the five-point final margin.

Lofton Looney paced four Tri-Cities double-figure efforts with 14 points on the night. David Crockett transfer Seth Britton punched in 13 points with Josiah Dixon and Abraham Gewelke both finished with ten points.

Drake Fisher scored a game-high 16 points to lead the East scoring. Corbin Laisure came through with 15 and Masun Tate chipped in with 11.
