Volunteer’s Andrew Knittel and Joltin Harrison both reached the 1,000-point plateau in a shellacking of Unaka while Sullivan East swept through a trio of Greene County foes in a Hall of Champions day Saturday at the Dyer Dome.

Elsewhere, Unicoi County took a road win at Hancock County and suffered a home loss to Chuckey-Doak and David Crockett lost a tight game to Maryville Heritage but bounced back to record a win over Oneida inside Clinton’s Donnie Dome.

Volunteer 101, Unaka 61

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. – The Falcons had three 20-point scorers in the win over the Rangers at Johnson County High School with Knittel leading the way with 22 points, Blake Head scoring 21 and Harrison 20. Harrison and Head both sank four shots from long range as Volunteer finished with 40 made field goals on the day.

Meanwhile, Minton added ten points while dishing out a whopping 15 assists while adding four rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Harrison and Head both handed out four assists while Harrison grabbed six boards and blocked two shots and head came up with a pair of steals.

Jamol Blamo led the Rangers with 19 points. Mason Wilson added 14 and Marcus Shomaker a dozen.

BLUFF CITY, Tenn. – The Patriots started with a win over the Rebels of South Greene. Drake Fisher led the way with 18 points, including three three-pointers. Masun Tate added 14 points while Corbin Laisure contributed ten.

Andrew Thornburg led South Greene with 12 points. Cooper Kelley and Jase Roderick both added ten points.

Tyler Cross and Fisher both scored 20 points in the nightcap. Tate added 13 points and Witcher chipped in with ten.

The Buffaloes’ Layton Frye led all scorers with 26 points with Ethan Turner adding 18.

SNEEDVILLE & ERWIN, Tenn. – Grant Hensley ripped the cords for 23 points in a whipping of the Indians. Hensley scored all but two of his points in the first half as the ‘Devils built a 47-15 cushion.

Jackson Simmons pitched in with 12 points and Eli Johnson added 11.

Topping the Indians was Chandler Ferguson with 14.

In game two, Cadin Tullock poured in 27 points in the Knights’ 72-66 decision.

Lucas Slagle led Unicoi with 23 points. Simmons was next with 16 points followed by Hensley with a dozen.

CLINTON, Tenn. – The Pioneers came up three points short in a loss to the Mountaineers. Colin Beason was Crockett’s top scorers with 17 points and top rebounder with eight for Crockett.

Reagan Cash tallied nine rebounds and nine points while Jacob Arnold also scored nine points and dished out four assists.

David Crockett 75, Oneida 59

Beason added a game-high 25 points in the victory over the Indians. Cash was back with nine more rebounds to go with his 14 points and Arnold went for a double-double of ten points and ten rebounds.

Gavin Pearce was also in double figures with 11 while Kolby Jones just missed double figures with nine points.
