Powell wide receiver Ayden Greene has decommitted from Cincinnati football, he announced Sunday. He initially committed to the Bearcats on June 5, 2022.

The senior opened his recruitment after Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell was hired by Wisconsin.

Greene is the No. 62 wide receiver in the country and the No. 14 player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. Greene has offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech. He has visited Tennessee and Arkansas.

Powell's Ayden Greene (11) makes the reception over West's Marshaun Bowers (13) during the TSSAA Class 5A semifinals on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022.

“I think he fits in very quickly," Powell coach Matt Lowe said of Greene's college prospects. "He's a very intelligent kid, he works extremely hard, he understands concepts, understands spacing, understands how to create things for himself."

Lowe said that Greene is adept at making contested catches and will most likely play on the outside as a receiver.

In the final game of his high school career Friday, Greene had six catches for 108 yards and one touchdown. In 14 games this season, he accumulated 66 catches, 1,127 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. As a defensive back, he had 39 tackles and 3 interceptions.
