Japheth Richmond came out ready to play against the Van Buren County Eagles. The big man showed his range as he buried two three-pointers to start the game. Coach Mitchell probably didn’t draw up the beginning of the game that way. Trip Pinion got involved early and scored off a full court breakaway. Richmond’s last second slam gave him 10 points in the first quarter and gave the Warriors a 14-10 lead.
Richmond and Pinion continued to play well as the second quarter progressed. Pinion hit two three-pointers in the quarter. Pinion dropped off a beautiful pass to Richmond for the finish. Jacob Davis hit a shot from long range. The score at halftime was 39-24 in favor of the home team.
Richmond started off the second half with a statement dunk. Christian Henderson got in on the scoring with a three-pointer. Thomas Brock had a nice rebound and put back. Pinion got several big rebounds in the third and Thomas Paul got involved with a nice drive.
In the fourth quarter the Warriors remained hot. Jacob Davis had three three-pointers. Japheth Richmond had two more powerful dunks. The home team cruised to a 67-49 win. Japheth Richmond was one star of the night with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 dunks. Pinion also played extremely well as he led all scorers with 20 points.
