The CCHS Eagles basketball team is in great position after two more wins that occurred Friday and Saturday.
The two victories against McNairy and Lexington have them sitting at number one in the district with an undefeated district record of 4-0.
Both games were close but the Chester County Boys fought to earn the W’s.
In the game at McNairy on Friday, the Eagles started off being behind by 7 points at the end of the first quarter, 19-12.
With just over two minutes left in the second quarter, the Eagles took the lead into halftime and were winning 39-32. Throughout the third quarter and fourth quarter, the game proved to be highly contested with the score margin being small.
The Eagles pulled it off though with a final score of 74-68.
During that game, Chad Barham hit a three-point shot that gave him his 1,000th point of his high school career. He will be presented with his 1,000th Point Ball on Friday.
The Eaglettes fell to McNairy though with a final score of 55-41 making them 1-1 with McNairy in district play.
The next day, the Eaglettes bounced back from the loss and defeated the Lady Tigers at Lexington. The final score was 40-28. For the Chester County boys, the Eagles versus Tigers game was a thriller.
The game started with the Eagles having a good 16-7 lead against their opponents, but by the time halftime came around, the Tigers came back and tied the game at 25.

Chester County rallied in the fourth and took the lead, 44-43, with 3:55 left in the match-up after a steal layup by Armaria Massengill.
Then the Eagles started winning 46-43.
However, with 46.8 seconds left, the Tigers made it a one-point game, 46-45.
With about 30 seconds left the Eagles missed a three-point shot to try to extend the lead, but missed which allowed the Tigers to get the ball and try to possess the ball for the last shot but they missed.
After a fight for the rebound, the Eagles got it and called timeout with 1.3 seconds left, and that was the game.
