One of the area's top 2024 football recruits, Middle Tennessee Christian offensive lineman Jesse Perry, received perhaps his biggest offer to date on Friday.

The 6-foot-7, 275-pound tackle's latest offer is from Tennessee, one that means a little extra.

"It means a lot to me," Perry said. "I've worked very hard during my high school career to get to this point. It feels great to be noticed and wanted by Tennessee."

The Vols' offer adds to a list that includes Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Memphis, North Carolina, Duke, Tulane, Cincinnati and MTSU, among others. Many have come over the past month.

"I really enjoyed my visit and the coaching staff," Perry said. "The coaches really showed me a lot of love there. (Offensive line coach Glen) Elarbee has done a great job with the offensive line and Coach (Josh) Heupel has done a great job bringing Tennessee to a championship level."
