Tennessee state swim meet: See who were the big winners from Nashville area

Auburn signee Morgan Carteaux wrapped up her high school swimming career with a state record, a pair of state titles and part of a relay win this past weekend in Knoxville.

Carteaux, a Ravenwood senior, won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.65 seconds, edging out Harpeth Hall's Margaret Petty (23.07). Carteaux won the 100 butterfly in a state record time of 53.19, beating out Father Ryan's Lucy Trailov in 56.07. The former state record was set by St. Mary's Lauren E. Harrington in 2011.

Carteaux also helped the 200 freestyle relay team win in 1:35.61, edging out Ensworth in .23. Joining Carteaux on the relay were Madeline Schaefer, Lana Cartailler and Elizabeth Yon.

Other multiple individual winners included Ensworth's Lilly Robertson (100 and 200 freestyle) in the girls meet and M.L. King's Spencer Nicholas (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke) on the boys side.

Robertson won the 100 freestyle in 49.95 to beat out Harpeth Hall's Margaret Petty (50.47). Robertson won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.18. She was also part of the Ensworth 400 freestyle relay that won in 3:28.18, beating second-place Ravenwood. Joining Robertson in the relay were Alex Glenn, Olivia Solimine and Julia Mason.

Father Ryan's Gwendolyn Bakker won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.20 to beat out Brentwood's Lindy Hunter by .13. Bakker and Trailov were part of the 200 medley relay that placed first for the Lady Irish. They were joined by Parker Lynch and Kaitlyn Barnes and finished in 1:45.46.

Spencer won the 100 butterfly in 46.74 and the 100 backstroke in 48.20. Merrol Hyde's Jeffrey Hickson won the 100 breaststroke in 55.82, beating out Brentwood's George Attmore by. 20 in the boys meet.

MBA's Oliver Pilkinton finished second in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Pilkinton was beat out by McCallie's Marvin Johnson in 19.87. Pilkinton swam it in 20.10. Both times beat the former state record of 20.28 set by former MBA swimmer Chatham Dobbs in 2015.

Pilkinton's was second in the 100 in 33.92 to Johnson (43.60). Both of those times beat the former state record of 44.60, which was set by former Collierville swimmer Joshua Walsh.

Ensworth won the girls state meet with 242 points, beating out runner-up GPS (205), Ravenwood (184), Harpeth Hall (173) and Father Ryan (155). McCallie won the boys meet with 352 points. MBA was the highest Nashville area boys finisher in third with 222. Brentwood was fourth with 159 points.
