Elizabethton’s Lina Lyon and Rena Lane and Hampton’s Piper Helle received recognition for their performance during the BlueCross Basketball Championships on Saturday.
Lyon and Lane were named to the Class 3A All-Tournament team, while Helle was named to the Class A All-Tournament team after the conclusion of Saturday’s respective Championship games.
Lyon had 53 points combined in the two games for the Lady Cyclones – including a 24-point performance against Jackson South Side. The senior tallied 12 rebounds during the week to go along with eight assists, while also providing a spark for EHS on both sides of the ball.
Lane tallied 30 points during the two games – including 16 points against Jackson South Side. The senior had 19 rebounds for EHS, and also provided key defensive plays for the Lady Cyclones.
Helle finished the tournament with 24 points – including a 17-point performance against Pickett County. Helle was 6-for-6 shooting from the field against Pickett County and provided a spark for the Lady Bulldog defense.
