Elizabethton baseball split a pair of games at home on Wednesday afternoon.

After falling 12-2 to Unicoi County, the Cyclones captured a 6-3 victory over Cherokee at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark.

In the nightcap, the Cyclones used a five-run fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead, and then prevented a Cherokee rally in the seventh.

Kaleb Hambrick was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Hayden Nave was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Bryson Rowland added two RBIs.

Rhett Slagle picked up the win on the mound with five innings of work as he allowed just three unearned runs with eight strikeouts.

Against the Blue Devils, Elizabethton was unable to answer a four-run third inning as Unicoi was able to take the win.

Peyton Johnson, Slagle, Nave, and Rowland each had a hit for EHS, while Nave and Johnson each had a RBI.

Johnson struck out four Unicoi batters in four innings of work on the mound.
