Jim Fey has resigned after four years as Summit's boys basketball coach.

Fey, 57, went 48-64 in four seasons with the Spartans. His best season was his first when Summit went 22-8 and reached a TSSAA Class AAA sectional before losing to Mt. Juliet. That team was led by twin brothers Destin and Keaten Wade, who are football freshmen at Kentucky.

This past season Summit went 12-20 and lost to Hillsboro in a Region 6-4A quarterfinal.

“We want to thank Coach Fey for his leadership the past four years and appreciate the relationships he built while here” Summit athletics director Chad Kirby said in a statement.

Summit will immediately look to find a new coach.

Jim Fey resigned as Summit boys basketball coach after three seasons.

Fey is a Dupont graduate and spent 23 years at East Nashville, which was formerly known as East Literature. He went to five state tournaments and had two state runner-up finishes at the Metro Nashville Public School. He won 422 games while at East Nashville.

Fey replaced former Summit coach Josh Goodwin prior to the 2019-20 season.
