Volunteer’s Conner Haynes went the distance on the mound the Falcons split their home-and-home series with Sullivan East and Rylan Henard was the spring storm for Tennessee High that blew away Elizabethton Tuesday evening at Tod Houston Field in the back end of Upper Lakes Conference series.

Meanwhile, it was a split decision for Daniel Boone Tuesday on the Gulf Coast shores and week’s sweep of Cocke County for the Cherokee Chiefs.

CHURCH HILL, Tenn. -- Haynes scattered six hits and six runs–three of them earned–over his seven innings of work. Peyton Steele drove in a pair of runs for Volunteer (1-1 2-2). Isaiah Bowery added an RBI as part of a 1-for-3 effort at the dish.

Connor McCormack took the loss for East, which got three RBIs from Jacob Witcher and a pair of RBIs from Johnathan Beach.

Volunteer returns to action next Wednesday, March 29, in a road trip to Union County. East plays Friday at Daniel Boone.

Tennessee High 13, Elizabethton 1

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Henard needed only 33 pitches in five-inning complete game four-hitter while going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI’s for the Vikings.

Henard struck out three, walked just one and got plenty of support in the way of a ten-hit attack.

Andrew Dingus and Isaac Blevins both had two hits, one for extra bases, scored twice and drove in two and Evan Mutter stroked a two-run homer in the first.

Braylin price and Cainan Myers also plated two runs each for the Vikings.

Kaleb Hambrick produced two of the Cyclones’ four hits on the night.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Trailblazers pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh to earn the victory.

Brogan Jones led the way on the mound and in the box, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one run driven in while tossing six innings, allowing just one hit, no earned runs and striking out 11.

Jaiden Henry worked the bottom of the seventh for the save. Ethan Roller also had two this and drove in two runs.

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Trailblazers built a six-run lead in the second, but were unable to hold on as Jasper forced extra innings with three in the bottom of the sixth and after falling behind 7-6 in the top of the eighth, plated two in the bottom half for the win.

Jones was again 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs driven in. Will Gregory and Henry also had two hits with Gregory driving in one run with a double.

Aiden Roller had a quality start on the mound, throwing five innings and allowing five hits and three earned runs while striking out four.

Cherokee 13, Cocke County 9

NEWPORT, Tenn. – Four runs in the first and seven in the third propelled Cherokee to an 11-1 lead and the Chiefs held off Cocke County for the victory.

Cole Putnal, Aidan Webb and Will Price all drove in two runs for Cherokee. Putnal finished 2-for-2 with a walk and a double while Webb went 2-forr-4 and also scored two runs. Price also crossed twice.

The Chiefs also got runs batted in from Manning Brooks, Jake Elliott and Parker Travis.

On the hill, Gage Adkins earned the win allowing just two hits and no earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.
