Six different West Ridge hitters roped doubles amongst a 13-hit attack in a victory at Volunteer while Gate City erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 5-5 tie and go on to the win over Sullivan East.
Also on Thursday three ‘Topper pitchers combined to subdue McMinn County in a Playing for the Cure Classic contest while Cherokee quieted the Austin-East Roadrunners in a five-inning pummeling and Tennessee High opened with a pair of wins at a Ripken Experience event on the Grand Strand.
