Freshman J.R. Zeimet, sophomore Braden Calton and senior Cayden Grant
The CSTHEA Patriots took a doubleheader over Bledsoe County on Friday, winning 8-3 and 12-1.
In the opener, J.R. Zeimet's sacrifice fly scored one run for the Patriots. Bledsoe tied it in the bottom of the first.
CSTHEA pulled away with four runs in the third inning when Noble Lucius doubled, scoring two runs. Cayden Grant singled and Jacob Marx doubled to bring in two more runs.
Braden Calton went five innings for the Patriots, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out three.
Dallas Bridges was on the mound for Bledsoe County.
Tucker Shaver threw one and one-third innings in relief.
CSTHEA collected nine hits. Grant, Lucius, and Calton had multiple hits.
In the second game, J.R. Zeimet singled in a run in the first inning to get the scoring started. He led the Patriots with a pair of hits.
Cayden Grant earned the win for CSTHEA. He surrendered one run on zero hits over two innings, striking out four. Zeimet and Malachi Madison entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Zeimet recorded the last six outs to earn the save.
Javan-Turner Angel took the loss for Bledsoe County.
Ike Lockhart had a hit for Bledsoe.
