CLARKSVILLE, TN – Anna Marie Adams of Clarksville Academy is undefeated going into the postseason play with her only loss in the Regional Finals this season.
Clarksville Academy’s All-District singles player and District Champion, Adams played a hard-fought match in the finals of regional play against Franklin Road Academy’s (FRA’s) 3-time regional finalist, Shelby Franklin. Anna Marie fought hard losing by a slim margin in tiebreaker for 3rd set, 1-6, 6-2, 10-12. Adams and Franklin battled for 1-1/2 hours. Adams earns a berth into the TSSAA Spring Fling State Championships on May 25 at Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro.
Clarksville Academy juniors Amarah Hill, Kennedy German and freshman Adams traveled to Vanderbilt University to compete in Individual Regional match play Thursday and Friday. Hill and German fell to Grace Christian Academy’s Fierz and Kratzig in a well-played match up. Hill and German are looking forward to next season for another shot for regionals.
