MURFREESBORO — Science Hill boys and girls romped to 4-0 victories in their TSSAA Class AA semifinal matches Tuesday at the Adams Tennis Complex.
Now, they will try to become the first Science Hill teams since 2009 to win sweep the state team championships in the same year.
The boys dispatched Hendersonville.
No. 2 singles player Om Patel and No. 4 Arshaam Kordamiri each won 6-0, 6-1 over Hendersonville’s Parker Berry and Lincoln Elrod. Shreeyan Papireddy took a A 6-4, 6-1 over Carter Brisson at No. 3.
Cooper Weems clinched the match at No. 5 singles by going to tiebreakers in both sets in a 7-6, 7-6 (1) victory over Jake Moore. At No. 1, Daniel Haddadin and Jackson Penny were locked in a close battle in the third set when the match ended. Haddadin lost the opening set 3-6 but bounced back to win 6-4 in the second set.
The boys will take on defending state champion Collierville in Wednesday’s championship match.

Josi Reid took a 6-2, 6-2 win over the Ravens’ Emily Immordino at No. 2. Lexi Bryant routed Abigail Higgins 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 and Madison Berry won 7-6 (2), 6-4 over Allison Wu at No. 4. Armita Kordamiri clinched the match at No. 5 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Christina Qi.
The Lady Hilltoppers’ No. 1 player, Leah McBride, was leading 2-6, 6-1, 3-1 over Ravenwood’s Grace Stout when the match was called. Science Hill, going for its second title in three years and sixth overall, will face Houston in Wednesday’s final.
